Goshen Re-Cycles is a bicycle-powered, curbside recycling pick-up service that combines a necessary city service with fair wage work for people with low income. The people hired to service our routes are outfited with bicycles towing 8-foot long trailers designed to carry recycling in recycling bins to the recycling drop-off centers located around Goshen. Routes are serviced year round.

Currently our service area is from about 3rd Street east to 16th Street and Madison south to Leroy. However, we often make special exceptions for locations close to those borders.

Residential service fees are as low as $5/month for two 18 gallon bins serviced twice a month. A $12 one time start-up fee is also applied to your first invoice. Over half of our customers choose to pay more than than the minimum service as a donation to CRBP. Because of these generous customers, we are able to keep our service fee low enough to be accesible to nearly anyone.
Service fees and pickup schedules differ for businesses, churches and schools.

When is the recycling picked up? Residential and church recycling is picked up on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of every month. That is almost every other Wednesday, but not always. See the residential pickup dates listed on the left hand menu bar.
Businesses and schools are picked up every Wednesday.
All customers should have their recycling out by 9am. We are not responsible for missed bins placed out after 9am.

by noon on Thursday. Email is usually best. We'll do our best to get your recycling picked up as soon as possible.
Do you ever cancel pick up because of the weather? Yes. Occasionally we cancel pick up because of weather, but it doesn't happen very often. Usually the temperature has to be well below 0 with several inches of snow on the ground before we cancel. Email notifications will go out Tuesday night if we plan to cancel pickup the next day.
If recycling pickup is cancelled, the day after the cancelled day becomes the next pick up day.
Also, we occasionally delay pickup to later in the day on Wednesday to avoid rain, etc.
What if my recycling is picked up, but no empty bins are left?

What if I can't fit all my recycling into the number of bins that I have? Only recycling that fits in a bin with the lid on will be picked up. Occasionally, riders will pickup small amounts of additional flattened cardboard placed next to the bins, but they are not required to.
You can always order more bins. Additional bin fees apply, but are lower per bin than the minimum service fee.

When will I get my next invoice? Residential, church and business customers are billed every six months. Our billing cycles are April through September and October through March. If you start service during a billing cycle, your first invoice will be pro-rated to the end of the current six month period. Invoices for a given six month period start going out towards the end of the month prior to that period's first month. We generally start at the top of the alphabet and move our way down. So if your last name starts with a Z, you might not get your invoice until the middle or end of the first month.
Schools are billed quarterly for service during the previous quarter, following the quarters of a standard calendar year.
Invoices come as PDF attachments to an email.
I don't have email or have trouble viewing email attachments. Can I have my invoice sent in the mail? Yes. Absolutely. While technology helps us do many things more effeciently, we are more than happy to do things the old fasioned way.
